Announcement

Results Day - 24th August 2017

This year GCSE results will be released on Thursday 24th August 2017. Your son/daughter is invited in on this day to collect their results between:

Year 11 (leavers) - 9.00am - 10.00am

Year 9 and 10 - 10.00am – 11.00am

Members of SLT and teaching staff will be available at that time to offer help and guidance if needed. If your child wishes any other person (including relatives) to collect their results, they must give written authorisation to the School beforehand. The person collecting must bring a copy of the letter as well as photo ID in order for the results to be released. I would like to stress that results will not be given over the phone.

Results can be posted home if your child is unable to personally collect them on the 24th August 2017. Should you require results to be posted, please provide a large stamped address envelope prior to the end of the Summer term (Friday 14th August 2017). We do not take responsibility if they do not reach you.

If there are any enquiries about your child’s results, please speak to a member of SLT or teaching staff on the day. We may feel that it is necessary to make any enquiry to the Exam Board about your child’s result/s. Exam Boards offer the option of having a script remarked, at a fee, if a candidate or teacher is unhappy with the marks. However, it is important that you realise that your grade can go down as well as up or stay the same. Students must sign a Candidate Consent form before any remark can be requested.

If you would like to discuss this any further, please do not hesitate to contact me on 01279 813384 or h.jones@fhs.essex.sch.uk.
