On Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th June, Forest Hall School celebrated the world with multicultural days. Students had the opportunity to meet people from across the world and learn about their culture. A number of activities were set up for students and teachers to enjoy ranging from Bollywood dancing to Irish culture.

BOLLYWOOD DANCING
“Very energetic, difficult but fun, sometimes frustrating until you get it.” – Omar Mate, Year 10
“It is a fun and interesting view into Indian culture.” – Jake Mullens, Year 10

AFRICAN PATTERNS
“It was fun to learn about African beading.” – Sophie Taylor, Year 9
“Very fun to learn about African jewellery.” – Becca Smith-Wilson, Year 8

IRISH CULTURE
“It was interesting to learn about new sports, such as hurling.” – Mami Seck, Year 10
“It was surprising to learn that Irish has its own language not accent.” – Kaelan Sampford, Year 10

GREEK CULTURE
“It’s cool to learn about different countries and how they live compared with England.” – Emma Sullivan, Year 8
“It’s very interesting and different to other things.” – Niamh Madigan, Year 7

WORLD FOOD
“Food was lovely, delicious and tasty.” – Kieran Oliver, Year 10
“It is interactive as you can taste new foods which is intriguing.” – Erin Langer and Enriqa Mate, Year 10

AFRICAN DRUMS
“It is interesting and easier than I expected.” – James Baker, Year 10
“Vibrant, atmospheric, with a good rhythm.” – Miss McCarthy

INDIAN COOKING
“It smells delicious and has interesting flavours.” – Emma Boswell, Year 9
“It was good because we got to cook different foods from India.” – Heather Edwards, Year 9

INDIAN KORA
“Interesting and exciting to listen too.” – Aimee Hutchin, Year 9
“It was very amusing and I learnt a lot about the culture.” – Fraser Crossan, Year 10

ISRAELI DANCING
“We learnt a lot about Jewish history.” – William Chapman, Year 10

WORLD CULTURES
“I feel the lesson was very good, interesting, and showed us more about different culture.” – Ed Atkinson-Purse, Year 10
“It was fascinating to learn where everyone is from.” – James Baker, Year 10

GREEK DANCING
“I found the Greek dancing very educating and exciting, however I believe I should have won!” – John Hedges, Year 10
“An amazing experience! I am happy to have taken part in this activity. Students have learned a lot about Greek culture and are having a jolly good time.” – Mr Sautron
